Golfer’s elbow (medial epicondylitis) is caused by repetitive strain on the tendons that attach to the inner side of your elbow. Activities like golfing, lifting, or even typing can lead to overuse, creating small tears in the tendons that result in pain, inflammation, and weakness. The discomfort typically radiates down the forearm, making gripping or lifting difficult.

Massage Therapy Approach

My approach to treating golfer’s elbow focuses on relieving the tension and inflammation in the affected muscles and tendons. Here’s how I work to get you relief:

  • Trigger point therapy to target and release muscle tightness in the forearm.
  • Cross-fiber friction to promote tendon healing and reduce scar tissue buildup.
  • Myofascial release to improve overall muscle flexibility and function.

By reducing the strain on your tendons, this targeted massage helps to restore mobility, relieve pain, and prevent further injury.

Strengthening for Long-Term Relief

Massage alone isn’t enough to fully fix golfer’s elbow. To keep it from coming back, we’ll work together to strengthen the surrounding muscles. I’ll provide you with stretches and exercises that target weak areas, helping to balance out the forces on your elbow. You’ll also have some easy “homework” exercises to continue making progress between sessions.
